Aisling Bea
Aisling is a popular Irish comedian who has been around for a long time. Born in Kildare, Ireland on 16th March 1984. The comedian has appeared featured on QI together with Stephen Fry. Aisling Cliodhnadh O'Sullivan (born 16 March 1984) more popularly known as Aisling Bea, is an Irish comedian and actress from Ireland. Bea began her stand-up comedy career in 2011, after appearing in bits in several Irish television shows and British series from 2009. In 2012, she was frequently performing on sketch comedy shows and sitcoms. In 2012, she began appearing on panel shows after winning an award from in the Edinburgh Comedy Awards. From 2016 to 2017 she was a team captain for 8 Out of 10 Cats as well as a frequent participant on the follow-up show 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown. Parents were Brian O'Sullivan and Helen O'Sullivan. She has a younger sister, Sinead. In 2012 she became the second female to be awarded the So You Believe You're Funny award. The surname of Bea is in honor of her late father. Aisling Cliodhnadh O'Sullivan was born in Kildare town County Kildare on 16 March 1984. Bea's father Brian was an equine vet who killed himself at the age of three. Bea didn't learn how the death of her father occurred until she was thirteen. Bea was her stage name. Bea was in tribute to her father. She published an opinion piece in The Guardian, published in 2017, about her experience dealing with suicide. Bea (and her younger sister Sinead) was raised within the home of Helen Moloney, a educator and jockey trainer who was also a professional jockey. The family was passionate about horses and races. Bea began her career as a tour guide at the Irish National Stud. However Bea knew early that racing wasn't for her.
